Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - This is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform an longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and aprove what God's will is -- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Leviticus

Well, my mom asked me on Sunday if I was still doing my reading through the Bible. She was wondering, because I haven't written about anything that I am learning in a while. Well I've been reading in Leviticus for the past 10 days or so. Leviticus doesn't provide much to apply to my daily life, until you get towards the end. I realized that God was trying to make a point to the Isrealites that He was the Lord. He repeats this statement "I am the Lord, who makes them holy" several times during this book.

When I think of the word holy, I think of God. God is holy. We are going to praise God in heaven saying holy, holy, holy. I don't think of man as holy. God placed the laws and sacrifices on the Isrealites to give them the opportunity to be holy.

I think about the massive amount of tasks and laws that the Isrealites had to follow in order to be holy like the Lord and I am grateful for Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins in order that I made be made holy as God is. I don't have to sacrifice to God with goat, sheep or bulls. Jesus Christ payed that price for me on the cross.

Leviticus reminds me of the grace that God has shown to me through His Son's death on the cross. I am grateful for this grace.

Bowl-a-thon!

There has been a change in the plan for Angie. Indonesia in not available, but China is. So Angie's planning on going to China. The organization she is going with change the plans last week, so I thought that I would update a little. If you want more information, check out Angie's blog on my links.

This summer Angie is planning on going to Indonesia on a missions trip, from May 30 - August 4, 2007. In order to go she needs to raise $4300 for this trip. On this coming Saturday, Feb. 24th, I am participating in a bowl-a-thon with her to help her in raising money for this trip.

There are two ways to donate for this trip. First you could sponser me in the bowl-a-thon by giving an amount per pin that I knock over in two hours. So if you put in $0.05 per pin and I knocked over 500 pins, then your donation would be $25. I'm not a great bowler so don't worry about me knocking over a ton of pins.

The other way that you could donate would be with a flat donation. Just pledging to give a certain amount of money. Either way will help Angie as she tries to raise money to go to Indonesia this summer.

If you want more information on what she will be doing in Indonesia you will have to ask her. Information for this trip is still coming in as to what specifically she will be doing.

Thank you for your support for this ministry!

Let me know how you can support.

Meet the Parents

Well this past Saturday was "Meet the Parents" day for me. Angie's parents came into Saginaw from Caro for dinner, which Angie made. Dinner, Russian Chicken, was great and her parents were fun. We had a great time together. We played games and laughed together, just like we do at my parents house. I felt very at home with Angie's parents. They are very cool parents! I can definitely tell where Angie gets her humor and excitement for life. I am looking forward to spending more time with them in the future. And of course more time with Angie!!

Exodus

So I've been reading in Exodus this week, chapters 20-... Now if you've read these you will notice that they are mainly plans for the tabernacle, what the priests are to do and wear, etc. I was reading though it and was feeling a bit bored by it, until I realized how detailed God is.
Sometimes I view God as looking at the big picture, since he sees the beginning and the end. But in reality He is a detail guy. Details are fun, because they give the reader a better understanding of what is going on.
I'm glad that God is interested in the details of my life and not just the big picture. The details are what I need the most help with, daily walking with God sometimes proves to be a struggle, but I know that God is with me and is desiring to walk with me through the details of life.
